How it works

How the locks work

Paddlegear Lock open to all. Two more locks with a free licence. Every rule in writing.

Paddlegear Lock, open to everyone

Paddlegear Lock is open to everyone: spin it on the home page or on its own page with free play coins. There is no name, email or password to give and nothing to tick.

The free boat licence

Lower Pound Rise and Feederbrook Mill need a free account. The form has four fields: nickname, email address, password and a tick to confirm you are 18 or over. No card field, no address, no phone number — nothing on the site costs money. Why an account at all? So your coins and progress are waiting when you return, and so the games stay adults only. One button on your account page deletes it and everything in it.

One balance for the whole cut

Start with 100,000 free coins, plus whatever Paddlegear Lock has already paid you in this browser. Balance, level and missions are shared by all three worlds. Coins are virtual: they cannot be bought, sold, withdrawn or exchanged for anything, and no win has real-world value.

Free top-ups along the way

  • Free canal coins every four hours.
  • Daily missions from Jory, paid in coins.
  • Rewards for each level you reach.
  • Under 2,000 coins? The lock fills again at once, free.

No in-app purchases. No payment page anywhere on the site.

How a win comes through the gates

Five reels and three rows in every world. Wins pay left to right, starting on the first reel, over adjacent reels along fixed paylines. The stake is shared equally between the lines. Paytable values are multiples of the line bet — except the scatter, which pays on the total stake. Only the top win on each line counts.

Bonuses, lock by lock

Bonus on the cutHow it plays at the lockWhich locks have it
Tumbling reelsWinners disappear, the remaining symbols drop, new ones fall in from the top. Each further win in the chain pays more: x1 on the spin, then x2, x3, and x5 for every tumble beyond that.
Rising multiplierIn free spins the multiplier rises as the round goes on and does not fall back before the round ends.Feederbrook Mill
Wild-hold respinA paid spin with no win but a wild on show: the wilds hold, the rest of the grid respins, free.Paddlegear Lock
Last-reel respinA paid spin with no win and two scatters: reel five spins once more, free, looking for the third.Lower Pound Rise
Double-pay free spins, lock-sideThe simplest round of all: three scatters trigger free spins, and each win in them pays twice over.

Randomness on every lock

Every reel has a fixed symbol strip. For each spin, your browser’s random number generator chooses an independent position on each strip. Past spins never influence later ones, and nothing reacts to your balance or your time at play.

Figures from Jory’s log

Return, hit frequency and feature frequency for each world come from running the game’s own code for millions of spins, and appear in its paytable. They cover coin play in these free games only — nothing about any real-money game.
